Aspiring Content Creator & Instructional Designer

About the Designer

After twenty-six years as an educator, I am exploring a new career combining my interests in graphic design, books, writing, and instruction.

My interest in graphic design began with my role as the editor of an annual publication for Boston College's student programming. Utilizing Adobe Pagemaker, I took a lead role in the publishing process—from writing and editing to proofreading, meeting with printers, and scrutinizing the mockup before the final print. This experience served as a springboard for my subsequent ventures in creating both print and digital materials, including brochures, flyers, and informational booklets, using tools such as Microsoft Publisher, Adobe InDesign, as well as online platforms like Canva and Book Creator. Eager to pursue a career in creating content and instructional design, I completed my graphic design certificate from American Graphic Institute and my front-end web developer certificate from SheCodes. With my coursework in design, eBook formatting, HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I am eager to secure a position utilizing my work experience and coursework.

As a lifelong learner, I've adopted a growth mindset. As a teaching professional, I identified and addressed daily challenges, learning and adapting with each possible solution. As a school librarian, I balanced the responsibilities of independently managing the library facility with the opportunities to collaborate with my colleagues. Each year, I dedicated time to self-directed learning, utilizing various resources to enhance my professsional expertise.

I enjoy various creative hobbies and outdoor activities. I've expanded my baking skills through classes at the King Arthur Baking School in Vermont. Beyond the kitchen, I find joy in knitting and quilting, making beautiful and functional pieces for myself and others. Through classes with Westport Writers' Workshop, I've explored my own storytelling talents. My other interests include playing golf, learning how to row and paddleboarding.
